Pham entered Thursday's 9-4 Grapefruit League victory over the Braves as a pinch runner in the bottom of the fifth inning and notched a stolen base, while also singling in his only at-bat.

After slashing .226/.324/.440 over 183 plate appearances in 2016, Pham projects as the primary backup at both left field and center field heading into 2017. Pham's nine home runs last season represented his best figure in that category over his three stints with the big league club, but he also generated a mammoth 38.8 percent strikeout rate that was his highest since his time at Double-A Springfield back in 2012. The 28-year-old has seen plenty of action thus far this spring, hitting .273 with one walk, one run and a pair of stolen bases over 11 at-bats.
