The Cardinals placed Rosenthal on the 15-day disabled list Tuesday with right shoulder inflammation, MLB.com's Jenifer Langosch reports.
It's not clear when Rosenthal first started experiencing soreness, but he will now be sidelined at least a couple weeks while recovering from his setback. He has pitched mainly in middle relief of late, so his absence should not have much of an effect on the Cardinals current late-inning bullpen roles.
