Cubs' Jason Heyward: Rejoins club but won't be activated

Heyward (finger) returned to the Cubs on Friday, but the team isn't expected to activate him until Saturday, Paul Sullivan of the Chicago Tribune reports.

The outfielder went 1-for-3 with an RBI on Thursday for Low-A South Bend, and he reported no issues with his sprained finger, Bruce Levine of 670TheScore.com reports. Chicago decided that was enough practice. Heyward should be back patrolling right field for the second game of the Cubs' weekend series against the Brewers. He's batting .253/.333/.364 with three home runs and 17 RBI in 111 plate appearances.
