Lester (10-4) earned the win Monday by holding the Mets to one run over 7.2 innings. He allowed four hits, walked three and struck out three.
Monday's start was a welcome return to form for the lefty, as in his final two starts before the All-Star break, he'd allowed 13 runs in 4.1 innings. Nonetheless, it's been an excellent season for him overall, as Lester will carry a 2.89 ERA and 1.07 WHIP into his next start, Sunday against the Brewers.
