Cubs pitcher Anthony Varvaro clears waivers, heading to Triple-A

Cubs relief pitcher Anthony Varvaro has cleared waivers and is expected to head to Triple-A Iowa, according to the Chicago Tribune.

Varvaro was designated for assignment last week when the team called up reliever Justin Grimm. Varvaro posted an 0-1 record with a 4.09 ERA in 11 innings of work.
