Diamondbacks lefty reliever Oliver Perez has been shut down with what the team is describing as a dead arm. He is coming off successive appearances last weekend that resulted in decreased velocity and arm soreness.
Perez has yielded seven earned runs in his last two innings pitched. If he is done for the season, it will end with a 3-4 record and 2.86 ERA in a career-high 65 outings.
