Dodgers' Alex Wood: Stellar once again

Wood (5-0) fired 7.1 scoreless innings in Friday's 7-2 win over the Marlins, giving up six hits and two walks while recording four strikeouts.

Wood continues rolling along, with the blanking extending his scoreless streak to 20.1 innings. That spans the southpaw's last three starts, as well as the final two frames of a five-inning outing against the Giants on May 2. Wood was especially effective keeping the ball down Friday, inducing a whopping 19 grounders. He fired an efficient 96 pitches overall, notching 13 swinging strikes along the way. The 26-year-old lowered his ERA to 1.88 with the effort, and he'll look to keep adding zeroes to his ledger when he takes on the Cardinals at home next Wednesday.
