Dodgers' Casey Fien: Placed on DL

Fien was placed on the DL on Tuesday due to tendinitis in his elbow, Andy McCullough of the LA Times reports.

The Dodgers won't take any chances with Fien's arm and he'll hit the DL retroactive to July 17, meaning he'll be eligible to come back as early as August 1. The Dodgers also placed Hyun-Jin Ryu on the DL on Tuesday while bringing Joc Pederson back from the DL and recalling Luis Avilan.
