Wheeler was optioned to Triple-A Oklahoma City after being acquired by the Dodgers on Friday.
Wheeler made his major-league debut with the Twins earlier this week before being DFA'd but returns to Triple-A, where he'll likely serve as organization depth for his new club. The southpaw posted a 4.50 ERA over eight games (seven starts) with Triple-A Rochester this season.
