Mets starting pitcher prospect Domingo Tapia tossed six shutout innings Sunday for Class A St. Lucie. However, Tapia remains winless in his last three starts despite not allowing more than two earned runs in any of those outings.

Tapia is 2-3 with a 2.23 ERA and .185 opponents' batting average in seven starts. He has struck out 28 and walked 13 batters in 32 1/3 innings. He has allowed one home run.

Tapia, who is considered the Mets' 11th-best prospect by MLB.com, has been working on incoporating a curveball into his repertoire this season and St. Lucie manager Ryan Ellis said "it's come along nicely."

"He's starting to trust it a lot more. Even when he's behind in the count, he's comfortable enough to mix it in. He's found control enough with it where he feels comfortable throwing it," Ellisa said, per MLB.com. "If he can control that fastball with heavy sink and mix in his curve to the other side of the plate, it doesn't matter how hard he's throwing. He's going to keep guys off balanced."
