Pence (hamstring) was hit by a pitch in his first rehab game Saturday, John Shea of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
This appears to be the reason why he was pulled from the game after just three innings. The Giants didn't want to push it in his first rehab outing. Shea further reported that Pence felt good after exiting the game.
