Giants RP Jeremy Affeldt placed on DL; Mike Broadway recalled

Giants left-handed reliever Jeremy Affeldt was placed on the 15-day disabled list on Tuesday. The veteran pitcher is dealing with left knee subluxation. 

Affeldt missed time on the DL earlier this season due to a shoulder strain. 

Affeldt was told he has a torn ligament in his knee, but he is not expected to need surgery, and should be able to pitch again this season.

To replace him on the roster, the Giants recalled right-hander Mikel Broadway from Triple-A Sacramento.
