Astros closer Luke Gregerson needed only 13 pitches (nine for strikes) to complete a scoreless ninth inning Thursday against the Royals to earn his second save of the 2015 postseason. He struck out two.
Two nights after preserving a 3-0 win over the Yankees in the AL Wild Card game, Gregerson was back at it with a scoreless inning against the Royals. He struck out Kendrys Morales to open the the frame, but proceeded to hit Mike Moustakas with a pitch. Fortunately, Gregerson rebounded to retire Salvador Perez (strikeout) and Alex Gordon (foul out) to escape the inning with no further damage. Through two playoff appearances this season, the 31-year-old right-hander has allowed just one baserunner while striking out four over two scoreless innings.
