Adams was optioned to Triple-A Columbus on Wednesday, Paul Hoynes of the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.

Adams will head back to Triple-A to work on his development after a failure of a stint with the Indians. The 29-year-old gave up 10 earned runs in just 7.2 innings of relief while striking out three batters. He will be replaced by right-handed pitcher Shawn Armstrong, who was recalled in a corresponding move.
