Anderson (elbow) has elected to undergo Tommy John surgery and will miss the entire 2017 season, Jordan Bastian of MLB.com reports.

Anderson was shut down two weeks ago with an elbow injury and met with Dr. Keith Meister on Friday, who confirmed the injury diagnosis of a UCL sprain as well as a mild flexor strain. The 26-year-old will undergo reconstructive surgery and will return to compete for a major league spot in 2018.
