Martinez was called up from Triple-A Columbus on Saturday, WTAM 1100's Nick Camino reports.

The 33-year-old journeyman was hitting .288/.351/.442 with two home runs and two steals in 27 games with Columbus, but his .187/.235/.256 career line in 204 MLB games speaks to his big league potential. The move corresponded with Michael Brantley (shoulder) being placed on the 15-day DL, and Jose Ramirez should be expected to see the bulk of the starts in left field while Brantley is out.
