Indians' Trevor Bauer: Evolving into big-time strikeout pitcher

According to Travis Sawchik of Fangraphs, Bauer's career-high 11.5 K/9 is a direct result of an increased usage of his curveball.

Bauer is throwing a curveball on a career-high 24.6 percent of his deliveries this season. He spun the pitch a career-high 47 times (40.7 percent of his pitches) while recording a personal-best 14 strikeouts in his last start Tuesday against the A's. The development of his curveball should allow Bauer to continue racking up punchouts, especially when his upper-90s fastball is on point.
