Jeff Karstens will have stitches removed Sunday

Pirates pitcher Jeff Karstens, on the 60-day disabled list, told MLB.com he will have the stitches from his shoulder removed Sunday, nine days after his arthroscopic surgery to clean up the rotator cuff and labrum. The Pirates have not set a timetable for his return.
