Hernandez (shoulder) was activated by the Mariners prior to his start against the Astros, Ryan Divish of the Seattle Times reports.

Hernandez is set to make his first start since late April after recovering from a shoulder injury. He has ramped up his work in the minors over the past couple weeks and said that he could throw 100 pitches during Friday's game, but the team will likely keep that number much lower for his first game back. In a corresponding move, the Mariners optioned Andrew Moore to Triple-A Tacoma.
