The Mariners have brought up catcher John Hicks from Triple-A Tacoma to replace the demoted Mike Zunino, per MLB.com.

He is set to join the team in Chicago on Friday night for the second game of a series against the White Sox.

Hicks owns a six-game hitting streak, but has otherwise not performed well at the plate this season. His slash line sits at .245/.282/.362 and he has whiffed 71 times in 298 at-bats.
