The Marlins activated outfielder Christian Yelich from the 15-day disabled list Friday, the team announced.
Yelich was placed on the disabled list after he suffered a back injury in April. Yelich will bat leadoff and play left field in Friday's game at San Francisco.
In order to accommodate Yelich on the roster, the Marlins designated infielder Reid Brignac for assignment. Brignac was hitting .077 in 13 at-bats this season.
The Marlins are the underdogs (+115) at San Francisco on Friday.
