Hechavarria (oblique) started at shortstop in his second rehab appearance with Double-A Jacksonville on Sunday, going 1-for-3 with a stolen base.

Like Hechavarria, third baseman Martin Prado (hamstring) made his second rehab appearance with Jacksonville, suggesting the two infielders are on similar recovery timelines. The Marlins haven't indicated how much longer Hechavarria or Prado will remain on assignment in the minors, but it looks like the big club will have its ideal left side of the infield back before long. Hechavarria's defensive abilities will ensure him a regular spot in the lineup upon his return, but his .255/.291/.337 career batting line and dearth of power or speed render him an unappealing fantasy option outside of NL-only formats or deep mixed leagues.
