Nicolino (0-1) gave up five earned runs on seven hits and two walks over four innings in Friday's 7-2 loss to the Dodgers. He struck out three.

The young southpaw couldn't duplicate the success he'd enjoyed against the Braves in his first outing of the season, getting into trouble with the long ball in particular. Nicolino gave up a 385-foot solo shot to Chris Taylor in the third, which was followed by Brett Eibner's two-run blast in the fourth. The 25-year-old labored overall, working up to 85 pitches in his four frames. He'll look to bounce back in a Wednesday road start versus the Athletics.
