Chen (1-0) allowed only one run on seven hits and a walk while striking out five over six innings in a 7-2 win over the Mets on Friday.
The 31-year-old lefty was efficient, throwing 63 of 86 pitches for strikes, but the highlight of the night for Chen was his first career major league hit on a dribbler that Asdrubal Cabrera couldn't come up with cleanly behind the mound. He'll match up again with the Mets back in Miami on Thursday.
