Duda (elbow) will begin a rehab assignment Friday, Jon Heyman of FanRag Sports reports.
Duda said earlier this week that he will likely return to the Mets' lineup when he becomes eligible Sunday, so this appears to be the final step in the recovery process. The lefty has been out with a hyper-extended elbow, but will provide a much-needed source of offense to a roster crippled by injuries. Duda was off to a steady start in his first 13 games as well, slashing .238/.360/.571 with four home runs and seven RBI, and should immediately regain his everyday role at first base.
