Bourn was released from his minor-league contract with the Orioles on Wednesday, Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports reports.
Bourn exercised his opt-out clause Tuesday, and given the .220 batting average he produced in 11 games with Triple-A Norfolk, it comes as no surprise that the team opted not to move him up to the big league roster. The 34-year-old's experience could be a calling card in free agency, though his best days are certainly behind him.
