Goodwin went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI in Sunday's loss to the Padres.
He got the start in right field and hit second while Bryce Harper received a rest day, and Goodwin was able to make a contribution. The 26-year-old is hitting .250/.286/.400 in 21 plate appearances since being called up, and he should remain the Nats' fourth outfielder with Adam Eaton (knee) out unless the front office brings in some help at the trade deadline.
