Scherzer won the 2016 National League Cy Young Award.
The award is the second of Scherzer's career, with the other coming in 2013 during his tenure in Detroit. That makes him the sixth pitcher in MLB history to win the title in both the AL and NL. Scherzer might have led the league in home runs allowed with 31, but he also led in wins, innings pitched, strikeouts, WHIP, and strikeout-to-walk ratio. A pair of Cubs, Jon Lester and Kyle Hendricks, came in second and third place, respectively, behind Scherzer.
