Orioles designated Eric Thames for assignment

The Orioles designated Eric Thames for assignment Sunday. Thames played at Triple-A Tacoma and Triple-A Norfolk this season in the Mariners and Orioles organizations, respectively. 

Thames hit .252 with Norfolk over his final 36 games with three homers and 13 RBI.
