Pirela is out of the lineup Sunday against the Brewers, Dennis Lin of the San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
Pirela has made six straight starts at the keystone, taking advantage of a San Diego infield that has been decimated by injuries this season. Since the May 8 call-up, his 4-for-23 performance at the plate leaves a bit to be desired, and his only extra-base hit of the year came during an earlier stint with the club in April. Although Adam Rosales will get the start Sunday, the eventual activation of any one of the four injured San Diego infielders likely poses a bigger threat to Pirela's long-term playing time than any other factor.
