The Padres optioned reliever Kevin Quackenbush to Triple-A El Paso on Thursday to clear a roster spot for outfielder Wil Myers, who was activated off the disabled list.
Quackenbush is 1-1 with a 3.10 ERA in 19 relief appearances for San Diego.
