The Phillies have signed Benoit to a one-year, $7.5 million contract, Jim Salisbury of CSN Philadelphia reports.
Benoit, 39, had a 2.81 ERA and posted a 25.5-percent strikeout rate in 48 innings last season for the Mariners and Blue Jays. He could be in the mix for closing duties in Philly. The team is expected to have an open competition for the role this spring.
