Saunders (groin) returned to action Friday, going 0-for-2 with a strikeout after replacing Daniel Nava (hamstring) in the sixth inning.

Saunders had departed Thursday's game with a groin strain and was subsequently left out of Friday's starting lineup, but his return indicates the absence may have been a simple precaution. Despite the lackluster performance Friday, the 30-year-old appears set to return to his starting role in right field. He's slashing .246/.296/.413 this season.
