Gonzalez (0-1) couldn't get out of the first inning in a 17-5 loss to the Twins on Saturday, surrendering four runs (one earned) on two hits and a pair of walks while only recording two outs.

Gonzalez was up to 38 pitches by the time he got the hook in what was a disastrous opening frame. A leadoff double by Eduardo Nunez was followed by a Joe Mauer walk, and after the latter reached second on an error by Roughned Odor, Max Kepler beat out a fielder's choice at first. Edwin Escobar and Juan Centeno subsequently plated three additional runs through a fielder's choice and single, respectively, sending the 24-year-old righty to the showers early. Gonzalez has now given up nine runs (six earned) on 12 hits and four walks over 5.2 innings in his two starts in 2016. He'll take another crack at the Twins next Thursday.
