Rangers' Hanser Alberto: Recalled by Rangers

Alberto was recalled by the Rangers on Wednesday.

Injuries to Prince Fielder (neck) and Shin-Soo Choo (back) forced the Rangers hand Wednesday as they had to call up reinforcements just days after the All-Star break. Alberto will presumably take on Fielder's role but to a lesser extent while he's up with the big league club, meaning he'll add depth at first base while also providing depth in the middle infield spots. During Alberto's 24-game stint with the big league club earlier in the season, he slashed .162/.162/.162 with a 33 percent strikeout rate over 39 plate appearances.
