Hauschild has made the Rangers' Opening Day roster, TR Sullivan of MLB.com reports.
It's still unclear what capacity the team expects to use Hauschild in. With a starting rotation decimated by injuries, he could very well find himself as the fifth starter to open the season or see use as a long-relief specialist. Manager Jeff Banister has insisted upon carrying eight or nine arms in the bullpen, so even if Hauschild misses out on a starting role he could remain with the team for an extended period.
