Rangers pitcher Lisalverto Bonilla to undergo Tommy John surgery

Rangers pitcher Lisalverto Bonilla will undergo Tommy John surgery, according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. The team later confirmed the report.

Bonilla was transferred to the 60-day DL Saturday with an elbow injury that remained undisclosed. He received an injection for elbow discomfort at the beginning of the month.

Bonilla appeared in five games in 2014 with a 3.05 ERA and 17 strikeouts in 20 2/3 innings.
