Chirinos avoided arbitration with the Rangers by agreeing to a $1.55 million deal, Jeff Wilson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.
While his batting average, home runs, and RBI all trended down from 2014 to 2015, Chirinos did register a career high in OPS. He remains a weak bat at catcher, so don't wait too long for a breakout season in 2016. It's also worth noting he had to deal with hand, shoulder, and biceps injuries last season.
