Barnette gave up a run on one hit and one walk and struck out two batters in the sixth inning of Friday's 5-3 win over the Tigers.

Barnette opened the frame with a walk, single and wild pitch, but was able to steer clear of major damage. The right-hander induced a sacrifice fly from James McCann that scored Justin Upton, then struck out the subsequent two batters to end the Tigers' threat. Though he was able to put out the fire he created, Barnette has still been too erratic to gain much of a foothold in the late innings. He owns a 5.06 ERA and 1.50 WHIP over 16 innings on the season.
