Rays' Alex Cobb: Agrees to $4 million deal with Rays

Cobb agreed to a one-year, $4 million contract with the Rays on Thursday, avoiding arbitration, Jon Heyman of CBS Sports reports.

Cobb attempted to pitch through a partial UCL tear in his pitching elbow last season before ultimately opting to undergo Tommy John surgery in May. He'll likely miss a large portion of the first half of the season in order to continue rehabbing his elbow before returning to the mound.
