Cobb (elbow) is expected to be activated from the 60-day DL and make his first start of the season for the Rays either Friday or Saturday against the Blue Jays, MLB.com's Bill Chastain reports

Cobb, who missed all of last season while recovering from Tommy John surgery, concluded his eight-start rehab assignment Saturday, covering four innings and surrendering one run and five hits in an outing for Triple-A Durham. With a 6.65 ERA, 1.80 WHIP and 15:8 K:BB ratio across 21.2 innings with Durham and High-A Charlotte, Cobb didn't exactly look sharp during his rehab, but more important than his results was the fact that he endured no setbacks with his elbow along the way. He'll likely experience plenty of ups and downs in his performance with the Rays over the final month of the season, but with the team out of playoff contention, the main priority will be ensuring that Cobb enters the offseason with his health fully intact heading into 2017.
