Whitley (1-1) struck out four over four scoreless innings in Saturday's 3-2 Grapefruit League win over the Blue Jays, giving up two hits and a walk.

Whitley was masterful after getting hit around in relief on March 14, as he stymied a Blue Jays lineup that included regulars Troy Tulowitzki, Kendrys Morales and Kevin Pillar. Although he's still competing for a bullpen role, manager Kevin Cash won't rule out using Whitley as a starter. The 27-year-old righty could also make for an outstanding option in long relief, given his ability to eat innings.
