Rays' Colby Rasmus: Takes seat Monday

Rasmus is out of the lineup Monday against the Reds, Roger Mooney of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Rasmus regularly enters the lineup against right-handed pitching, but he'll take a seat Monday as the Rays make room at designated hitter for the newly acquired Trevor Plouffe. Unless Plouffe gets off to a hot start with his new club, it's not expected that he'll displace Rasmus from the lineup on a regular basis, especially with the latter maintaining an .897 OPS on the season.
