The Reds traded Lamb to the Rays on Wednesday in exchange for cash considerations, Jon Heyman of FanRag Sports reports.

Lamb was designated for assignment last week but the Rays have deemed the lefty worthy of a 40-man spot. The 26-year-old dealt with a variety of injuries throughout 2016, limiting him to 14 starts for the big club, and he struggled when on the mound to the tune of a 6.43 ERA. His strikeout rate fell by three per nine and his walk rate also went in the wrong direction. Lamb is not expected to be ready to begin the 2017 season after undergoing surgery to repair a lumbar disc herniation, and it's hard to imagine he would earn a spot in the Rays' crowded rotation once healthy barring several injuries to their starting staff.
