Brett was optioned to minor league camp on Tuesday.
Brett worked his way up to the big leagues last season, appearing in three games, but it was unlikely that he'd crack the Opening Day roster. He'll likely begin the season in Triple-A and will serve as organizational depth up the middle of the infield.
