Buchholz has been announced as the Red Sox's starting pitcher for Game 3 of their ALDS series with the Indians, Tim Britton of the Providence Journal reports.

Buchholz spent a good portion of the season working out of the bullpen after struggling as a starter, but he rejoined the rotation late in the season and earned at least one postseason start by going 3-0 with a 3.14 ERA over five September starts. He faced the Indians twice during the regular season -- albeit during his rough patch to open the campaign -- and did not fare well, giving up eight earned runs in 10 innings (7.20 ERA) over two starts.
