Pomeranz allowed three runs on five hits and two walks while striking out four over four innings Wednesday against the Twins, Tim Britton of the Providence Journal reports.

Pomeranz had been expected to throw five innings Wednesday, but four was all he could fit over 76 pitches. After locking in his mechanics during his previous start, Pomeranz found himself rushing his delivery Wednesday. He'll remain in Fort Myers (Fla.) and throw in a minor-league game next Monday, an event manager John Farrell described as "important for Drew." It sounds like the manager wants to see some improvement next Monday and won't "rubber-stamp" him as the fifth starter next week.
