Red Sox's Dustin Pedroia: Tests come back clean

Monday's tests confirmed Pedroia doesn't have any fractured ribs, Pete Abraham of The Boston Globe reports.

This strengthens the Red Sox's stance that Pedroia's injury won't require a trip to the disabled list, though he's still experiencing swelling and pain, so he'll likely need at least a couple days to recover before returning to the lineup. While Pedroia remains day-to-day, Josh Rutledge should see time at second base in his place.
