Davis left Friday's start for Triple-A Louisville with a back injury, Zach Buchanan of the Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

The Reds say that he was removed after three innings as a precaution, but also acknowledged that a DL stint has not been ruled out. Davis has a 4.00 ERA, 1.44 WHIP and 8:6 K:BB in nine innings with Louisville after being sent down following major struggles in the big-league rotation. Once healthy, Davis is still unlikely to rejoin the Reds anytime soon and would be a player to avoid in most formats if he does get another chance.
