Report: Giants to sign free-agent pitcher Ricky Romero

According to a report from the Toronto Sun's Bob Elliott, the Giants are about to reach a deal with free-agent pitcher Ricky Romero , who was last in the Blue Jays organization. 

Romero has not pitched in the majors since 2013 as he has dealt with both injury and ineffectiveness. The lefty made the All-Star game in 2010, but has not pitched well since then, including during nine minor league starts in 2014, while undergoing surgery on both knees.

The Blue Jays released Romero on April 25.
